From welfare checks to a $100-million payday, Conor Mcgregor has worked real hard and has seen lot of setbacks in his life.
One thing which has never changed in his life is his belief in The Law Of Attraction. The heights he’s reached inside the UFC octagon are rooted in a sober, analytic and sometimes even dark private place.
This is what Conor has said recently when asked about the hard times he has faced in his life-
“I’ve seen difficult times. I know what that’s like. I learned from when I’ve lost and I’ve put things in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again,”
McGregor said recently. “If you beat me, I’ll say fair enough and I’ll come back better and get you the next time.
You can’t keep me down. I learn from everything. Every experience makes me better.“
McGregor’s improvement as a fighter and person has taken him to a fight week that only he imagined “Conor Mcgregor v/s Floyd Mayweather Jr.”
The fight is projected to gross about $600 million in revenue, this is the same as Mayweather’s fight against Manny Pacquiao.
Conor has seen defeats in his life. And that too big defeats. But he is resilient.
The most visible example of Conor’s resilience came last year, after he accepted a fight with Nate Diaz as a late replacement at a weight 25 pounds above his own UFC featherweight class to preserve a pay-per-view main event.
He then lost the fight by second round submission. Diaz rocked Conor with several punches and later the fatigued Irishman submitted against the jujitsu specialist. Yes, sure he lost.
But there was something very inspiring about McGregor that night.
One can see his facial expression that revealed the pain of losing and a sort of tribute to the better man and also the determination to win the rematch.
People like Conor is not different from people like us. What makes them different is their determination level and their never say die attitude.
Conor admitted immediately after the fight that he was
“heartbroken … I took a chance [moving up in weight] and it didn’t pay off,” adding in a television interview,
“I will not shy away from it and will not make excuses for it. All I will do is assess and come back.”
Those were the words of a man who lost a fight very badly. One can feel the determination in his words. Well, that’s what makes the law of attraction work for him.
What happened next?
Five months after fan’s hero lost to Diaz, the fans again insisted them to fight again and they did at 170 pounds.
A fitter McGregor landed steady punches that dropped Diaz early in the fight en route to a win by decision.
McGregor’s showmanship was on full display in November.
When Conor headlined the first UFC fight in the history of Madison Square Garden. He flaunted a white mink and drove around Manhattan in a Rolls-Royce in the lead up to his victory over Eddie Alvarez.
This secured him an unprecedented second UFC belt as lightweight champion.
“Conor is one of sports’ all-time great self-promoters. The best since Ali” veteran boxing promoter Lou DiBella said.
People never get tired now praising him. This is what he has become.
As a child Conor has dreams. Believing such glory will occur sets in motion a process for the dream to become reality.
McGregor has believed in the law of attraction.
For those who don’t know, the law of attraction was well documented in the book and film “The Secret.”
He’s developed such a profound confidence about it he’s taken on the persona known as “Mystic Mac,” eerily predicting how he’ll win fights.
This means that before the fight, he always predicts himself winning over his opponent.
We have a proof of this.
In 2015, before he become featherweight champion he spoked.
In which he was required to end then-champion Jose Aldo’s 10-year unbeaten streak.
He told to The Times and London Daily Telegraph that he’d lure Aldo forward, disappear like a ghost and deliver a knockout punch.
Thirteen seconds into that fight, that’s exactly what happened. Exactly what he said. Law of Attraction will work for you, if you believe in it.
“About when I was 15,” McGregor said his sister tried to educate him about the law of attraction. “It didn’t resonate. I was like, ‘Nah, shut up,’ but then it did eventually, and I’ve been walking it since.
Here’s what he further added for his belief in the law of attraction –
“I’d been hearing and reading about it and then I noticed it coming into play.
Let’s say you wake up in the morning in a rush. If I felt that feeling, I’d go outside it and go to the attraction.
Then I’d start waking up chilled and not worried, and it was like … free roads … so I just kept playing with it.”
And what about his fight with Mayweather ?? He said that he has used the law of attraction here too to bring his dream fight to life.
“This is a fight that’s been in my crosshairs since Floyd has been opening his mouth.
Not since he’s been speaking my name, but since he’s been speaking bad about mixed martial arts.
He’s been speaking ill about it multiple times,” McGregor said.
What happened next..???
As his fame was rocketing high, Conor took upon himself to respond to Mayweather which ultimately coaxed the 40 yr old legend out of retirement.
This time, McGregor forecasts that the use of eight-ounce gloves will lead to an early knockout and perhaps seal which combat sport is king.
But, he lost.
Conor may have lost the fight against Mayweather. But one can certainly see in Floyd’s eyes how much respect.
Here’s what Floyd said for him after the once in a lifetime fight –
“He’s a lot better than I thought he was … he used different angles. But I was the better man …
It was our gameplan to take our time and take him out down the stretch.”
“I chose the right dance partner for my last dance … this was my final fight.”
He certainly lost the fight but Conor has gained a lot of respect from everyone here.
The belief in the law of attraction has certainly made Conor a hero.
Conor who was collecting a welfare check in an area of Dublin as Crumlin 5 years ago, winning a fight days later that would help ensure he wouldn’t have to return to the office.
He said strong words for himself –
“I always make a point to see it” on returns home. “Look back, reminisce and pinch myself that I’m in this position,” McGregor said.
“But never stare. You stare, you stay there. I look, pay homage and use it as fuel to keep going.
I never become complacent or comfortable. I’ve never changed. Ask anyone.”
But, The Law of Attraction alone does not work. One needs to get trained. And certainly Conor has worked a hell lot.
He got tired, he got sick and he again get back up.
“I used to train 10-hour days, showing up [to the gym] with Tupperware and cutlery … I’d stay there the whole day,” McGregor said.
“Eventually, you run into a brick wall. You over-train, you get sick. That’s what happened.”
We have to believe in our mind how strong we are. That’s what will make us look strong in the end. If we’ll not believe in ourselves no one will.
“Keep believing in your ability. Look at everyone around you and celebrate them.
Don’t think you’ve got to go somewhere else,” McGregor said. “That’s the sign of a weak-minded fighter.
My team stays my team. [Boxing’s] a different discipline, but fighting is fighting. And we are masters at fighting, a different breed.
He’s always been this confident for himself. And even after loosing to Floyd I know nothing will change.
He would again rise up, learn from his defeat and stay strong as always.
Another aspect of the law of attraction which we can see in him is that he celebrate what’s going in his surroundings. He always believe in his roots.
“That’s what these young fighters have to believe in –their roots.
That’s the secret to success. Celebrate your surroundings and you will succeed.
Don’t, and you’re going away from yourself and you’re just another guy on another guy’s team.
You know what I’m saying? You’re just a tourist.”
The 29 yr old Conor’s words are always inspiring. And now he said that he look forward to inspire his son.
His son Jack, born in May’17 will always have all the luxuries in his life.
But he says that he’ll make his son understand how much hard work and self belief is needed to get all this success in your life.
Conor as a father is also very inspiring. Read what Papa says for his son…
“That’s one of the things I look forward to the most: to show him back my whole career, this crazy journey I’ve been on,” McGregor said.
“The hard work and sacrifice I’ve put into this … . He’ll come up surrounded by many luxuries.
He must always understand hard work achieves this. That’s the message I choose to give my son.”
Well, Conor certainly knows the true meaning of law of attraction.
Conor’s a live example of what the law of attraction can do for you. All you gotta do is Believe In Yourself.
His life journey is a true motivation for all and I truly recommend you all to always keep dreaming, keep visualizing and you’ll ultimately manifest all the success you want to achieve.
